![]() I have been with 6 different staffing agencies in Austin, Volt was the worst of them all. I get the feeling that Volt, like many employment agencies, sees it's workers as cattle, nothing more. And, frankly, I don't HAVE to contact them again. In my opinion, this behavior is incredibly unethical on Volt's part - to even say something like this is, to me, bullying. I could have easily said nothing and not shown up for the interview. But, I was honest and forthright and tried to make the best out of a less than ideal situation. I notified my recruiter as soon as I knew I had to cancel. In my opinion, I didn't do anything wrong. What does that even mean? Am I being blacklisted for a situation that was beyond my control? I have a family, and my family comes first. I get an email reply from my recruiter saying “this will make it difficult for Volt to move forward with you in future opportunities”. I notified my recruiter about two hours before my scheduled interview. Sometimes you have to make those hard decisions. But as a parent it is something that I have to deal with. This is not something I wanted to happen, nor did I plan for it to happen. The weather had been very cold with many of her fellow students coming down with the flu). (FYI - my daughter rides the bus to school every weekday - a bus that has NO heater. The morning of my interview, my daughter had a fever - and I reluctantly had to cancel the interview so that I could take my daughter to the doctor. Volt scheduled me for an interview with a company they wanted me to do an assignment with. Also this agency isn't very responsive, I've called and left several voicemails in the past on there phone lines and it took them WEEKS!! to return my calls. I'd advise you stay far away from this agency and “Will” who is currently a recuiter here at this agency. I've had several conversations like this with this recuiter before in the past so this isn't the first time this has ever happened. It's VERY unprofessional to dig into someone's else's personal life like that. In my opinion these are questions that you DO NOT ask people because for 1. ![]() PLEASE BE ADVISED! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! NOT VERY RESPONSIVE! I MOST DEFINITELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! When I spoke to “Will” one of there recuiters here over the phone last week he sounded very sketchy and unprofessional like the guy was asking me some VERY odd questions like Where have I applied to? Have you had any callbacks from jobs you've applied to? What do these jobs pay? Hows my Job search going? etc. We are a first-choice employer for talented people who want to work with great companies and gain valuable career experience, and we look forward to working with you.I WOULD NOT USE THIS AGENCY TO FIND WORK.
